OK so several weeks ago, my friend Steven O. Sellers sent me a cool, rustic looking wooden box, similar to a cigar box, but made to hold art supplies like pencils and brushes, and asked me to make him a cool box mandolin out of it. So after talking for a bit about what he envisioned, I came up with the "man" dobox, so named because the front of the body looks like a goofy face, thanks to the layout of the soundhole screens, pickup, bridge, etc. It was definitely a fun project to work on, and the final result is a really cool mandolin that is really one of a kind. this will definitely turn heads, both visually and sonically. it has a great tone to it, as well as low, fast action.
